The EJK Memorial Archery Foundation was started by the family of Erich Kanne to honor their son by giving to youth to promote this sport as Erich had a passion for archery.
In Spring 2014, the Kanne family held a contest asking area youth to submit an essay about why they like archery and what it means to them.
OWLC archer Emily Yang's essay was one of three winners chosen to receive a Genesis bow.
